"Never failed to be amazed by the blatant reframing that goes on in the news...this from the USA Today, carefully describing how Cheney shot his colleague, without ever using the word "shot" or "bullet", instead, Cheney "Accidentally peppered a companion with pellets"..."his blast sprayed Whittington"...
And then the article goes on to say, "such hunting accidents aren't rare", and then my personal favorite, "Cheney's accident is more reminiscent of occassions when President Ford drove golf balls into a crowd, beaning bystanders." This is from a newstory, not a opinion article, mind you...
But leave it to Jon Stewart to set the matter straight. In their own, beautifully poignant style, their coverage of the story reiterated, in words and 'Fox Style' subheaders, that "the president of the United States, mistook a 78 year old man for farm raised pheasants released to be hunted by rich men from their cars, and shot the man in the face"..."
indeed! it is a classic example. atrios perhaps did it
