just an unrepentant punk

q&a with Rimone:

most commonly asked (from people who email her)

Q: how old are you, anyway?

A: why does it matter? (never got replies to that but i honestly do wanna know. in fact, before i go on, i’ll tell youse now, when i answer someone who’s been nasty, they NEVER get back to me.)

Q: what’s with your thing about bush? he’s our President; have some respect!

A: no, he’s not mine; only a mealy-mouthed phoney cowboy and total illiterate who’s squatting in the oval office thanks to his cronies and SCOTUS. anyway, to quote Tony Soprano again, ‘those who want respect, give respect.’

Q: how could you write all that shit about your personal life? have you no shame?

A: what personal life? no, i know no shame. i’m from NYC and thus, have absolutely none at all; born and bred that way, complete with the big mouth which, back there, served me very well as kind of a survival mechanism and thank fuck for that.

Q: do you really have ADD? (with variations on ‘or are you just trying to be all cute?’)

A: look! a kitty! like who in their right mind would bullshit about something like this? morons.

Q: what about your immense drugs/alcohol intake?

A: your point being? i’m striving to be a female Hunter S Thompson apart from his brilliance, which i don’t have (i never really said that last [not to them, anyway] but then again, i never received any replies to the first. poltroons.)

Q: who the fuck do you think you are?

A: just an unrepentant punk with a fucking big mouth who’s lucky to have her own website. deal with it.

Q: who would take someone like you seriously?

A: um…why are you reading my site again, dude? for shits and grins or to encite your hatred of free-thinkers and/or liberals more?

Q: why are you so angry?

A: LOL, where to begin? with SCOTUS fucking US in the ass back in december 2K? with the chickenshit playing hero with his bullhorn after he shit his trousers on september the 11th? with the stolen 2004 ‘election? with Commander ‘Kleenex’ Crotchwad and his ‘Mission Accomplished?’ with the media bending over backwards to assure US that Al Gore was this elite snob who, not only invented (invented, mind you) the Internets but was totally out of touch? and the same do-nothing media telling US how Kerry lost the presidential debates cause he wasn’t as well-versed as the preznit? the War in Iraq? the Downing Street Memos? i could go on but why bother? and then there came Katrina. i might puke.

oh, and the best part — i’m angry cause before SCOTUS, i was a fairly non-violent person and indulged myself in my many varied interests, mostly having to do with art, dance, poetry, learning new tech, graphics, design and much much more. now that shit’s all sadly (for me) fallen by the wayside.

Q: why do you curse so much?

A: fuck off, asswipe, and don’t let the door hit you on the ass on yer way out.

Q: are you really the same in real life as you are at your site? like, is your online persona REALLY the real you?

A: are you fucking kidding me dude(s)? as fucking IF i could be anyone else.

as i mailed Lukery yesterday, ‘it’s funny — when people meet me in meatspace they always go “i thought your online persona was like a jokey thing — it’s not and i’m amazed (and/or happy or frightened [or whatever] to see you’re the same online as off.”…’

she's lying. she's actually cute and safe and friendly.

lol - at risk of triggering a rush to the basement, i doubt that the english language could possibly capture the evilness of Mr Richard Cheney - but give it your best shot.

So true, so true!

More than once around my digs we have had mournful discussions of how sorry the English language is at providing proper descriptions for these @$$holes.

I long for the days of the old Tonight Show when Johnny Carson would let fly with one of his famous curses . . . "May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits and . . . " They were so artful and they didn't get him busted by the FCC.

Here in the world of corporate-controlled email servers, we have learned to be artful in the "spelling" of the few words we have available that - if used in sufficient quantities and strung together appropriately - can at least hint at the depth of our true feelings, but still slip past the *language* filters that bounce them out of the system.

How strange it is, though, to find one's self looking to be careful in manners of expression to describe Darth Cheney, when he uses the words with no alteration on the floor of the Senate, and directed personally at his one of his colleagues.

The world is upside down.

All I know is if, in the 8 months I'vd been following US (and by extension, world) politics, if I had a buck (Cdn) for every time I've read a story (in MSM or alt media) where I've just exclaimed 'I don't fucking believe this', I'd be funding a meatspace meating of the GSF on a beach in Bermuda....

Don, in the almost six years, i've been back to reading politics, i'm ready for the nuthouse cause there's so much i can't believe but now i do.

Luke: "LeeB - my nana will be disappointed! you were the only one without a potty mouth."

Just so y'all know I'm doing my part, I found this line in WaPo, of all places, quoting Michael Moore:

"Here we are 3 1/2 years (into the war) and we are not able to secure the road from the airport to downtown Baghdad. It's absolutely fucking ridiculous," he said, describing the war as a distraction to keep Americans scared."

I don't think I've ever seen an F-bomb in a *family newspaper* before in my entire life.

(Hi, Nan! [waving])

Thanks. I'm a quick study and a thorough thinker. It helped that I had a touch of paranoia and skepticism in politics & politicians to begin with. I had questions with 9/11 from the word go, and always felt something was off with the '03 Iraq invasion compared to accounts I'd read of Gulf I, from Schwartzkopf's autobio and other sources. With that foundation, the rest followed logically.

Rimone: "what luke said, Don. but i wanna know, was there a specific incident that (excuse the phrasing) brought this on? or just a build-up of all the shite the world has suffered?"

Lukery: don - "i wanna know" too. didja wake up one day and think 'this aint right' and start looking closer? or what? can we use you as a model for reaching out to others?

A handful of things happening at about the same time: getting into Stewart's Daily Show during the '04 Election season; discovering the Canadian political blogosphere; hearing the name Greg Palast for the first time and subsequently immersing myself in his work; and, strangely enough, a cynical yet world-wise young woman about half my age picking me up at a local pub I frequent.

Over several late night conversations, she put me onto Hufschmidt's film and book, which lead to Alex Jones' stuff, and straight through the looking glass. Raw Story & the rest of the blogosphere (left, right and centre) followed shortly after, with a month or so of lurking until I could no longer resist the temptation to participate. Sorting the blog wheat from the shrill chaff took little time; I'm an even-handed thinker and don't respond to demagoguery and LCD appeals. An RS link on the Larisa/Iran interview series led me here.

This is where I feel the most credit for my rapid 'edumacation' lies. The calibre of this site in terms of commentary, information, and its sense of community is unmatched in my experience. For an information sponge like me, it's a treasure trove with the added bonus of people who provide a framework of supplemental information and commentary to tie it all together.

Thanks for the attaboy on my steep learning curve, but everyone give themselves a pat on the back for making it easier to scale. :)

Well, I've been swearing like a salty dog since the 2000 Coup de Court. It's all Dopey and Darth's fault.

During the Florida Non count, I used to wonder which mortician did Katherine Harris' makeup.
